A District Information Services Computer and Telecommunication Technology Initiatives Newsletter

By: Adam Howard

In order to better prioritize technology projects, Information Services (IS) department now requires all project requests to include the new Project Proposal and TCO worksheet as part of the submission process. All projects estimated to exceed forty (40) hours of District I.S. work must be submitted via this worksheet.

Information Services Steering Committee will use the information on the worksheet to evaluate the priority of the proposed project according to a set of six weighted criteria:

  • Required Service/Product
  • Strategic Alignment
  • Value to Users
  • Importance to Risk Mitigation
  • Leverage Potential
  • Total Cost of Ownership
  • Significance to User Base

All conditionally approved projects from IS Steering Committee will move forward to Chancellor’s Staff, who may approve a project directly if under $50,000, or send it through the governance structure for further review before final approval.

The worksheet can be downloaded from the District Forms folder in myGateway.
